Hair Care Tips

Always inspect your tresses before installation.

Treat your tresses as if it is growing from your own scalp.

Keep Your Hair Clean

  1. Co-wash the Hair. We recommend shampoo and conditioners that are sulfate free ( Aussie, TreSeme, Pantene Protein, etc).
  2. Rinse thoroughly with cool water.
  3. Let the hair air dry. Do Not Blow dry hair (blow drying dries and damages ends of hair).

HAIR CARE TIPS

  • Shampoo at least once a week
  • Use styling products at a minimum to avoid buildup
  • For wavy and curly hair use bottled distilled water for a natural look (14 in1 miracle worker)
  • To maintain a fresh curly look, we highly recommend that you mix leave-in conditioner & distilled water in a small spray bottle or use Hawaiian silky miracle worker 14 in 1.
  • When combing, always start from the ends of your tresses and work your way up.
  • Please consult with your cosmetologist to uninstall .
  • For curly hair, do not brush when it is dry.
  • Use large-toothed comb or paddle brush when combing curly or wavy tresses.
  • Avoid Alcohol Based Products and products with sulfate to Avoid Drying out your tresses.
  • Do Not blow dry the hair for it causes drying and damaged ends. (always allow your tresses to air dry.)

PROTECTING YOUR WEFT

While minimal shedding is normal, there are steps that you can take to ensure the longevity of your tresses. For extra protection we encourage weft sealing prior to installation. Sewing around your wefts allows your tresses to be kept in good condition and last long.

Heat could be your tresses biggest enemy. The more you use on it, the shorter the life span of your tresses. We cannot guarantee that the hair will remain silky if you use the blow dryer, flat iron and curling iron excessively. If you perm or bleach your tresses there is no guarantee your tresses will not lose its integrity. We do not guarantee longevity on any hair that has been chemically altered. Maintenance is the key to the longevity of your tresses.

SHAMPOO & CONDITIONING

The most common question customers ask is “what shampoo & conditioner should I use on my hair extensions?” Picking out the right shampoo & conditioner may seem like a frustrating task but it’s not as bad as you imagine. The main thing you want to look for when picking out a shampoo is a “sulfate free” label. Sulfate strips the essential oils out of your hair and may irritate your skin if you have a sensitive scalp.

Silicon mix shampoo & conditioner seems to be very popular with 100% virgin hair. There are videos on YouTube that shows how silicon mix can bring the life back into any dull, dry, or old hair tresses.  Please be advised against using silicon mix on Raw hair because the silicon mix conditioner can weigh the tresses down and when dealing with Raw hair you want a more lighter shampoo & conditioner.

We would recommend using Pantene Protein or Aussie hair care products on your tresses. Both brands have sulfate free shampoos. Their products are really light and provides the necessary ingredients to keep your hair soft, shiny, and full of life.

Allow your tresses to air dry instead of blow drying. This will reduce the chances of heat damage, shedding, and decreases life span of your tresses.

DEEP CONDITIONING

Deep conditioning is very important to the health of your tresses. A good deep conditioning will not only clean your tresses but will also keep your tresses shiny, soft, and manageable. Apply deep conditioner and allow it to sit on the tresses for about 30 minutes. There is not a such thing as leaving deep conditioner on to long The longer the conditioner stays on the tresses, the silkier and softer your tresses will become.

COMBING & BRUSHING

We advise against combing tresses with small tooth comes. Combing excessively  increases the chances of shedding and should never be done to raw tresses. When detangling and brushing your tresses we recommend using a wide tooth comb or paddle brush. Start from the ends of your tresses and work your way up to detangle your tresses with ease.

CURLING & STRAIGHTENING

When curling your tresses we recommend no heat methods when attempting to achieve different styles to your tresses. You can achieve just about every curl pattern with the use of Flexi rods, perm rods, bantu knots, two strand twist and braids. If you must use heat to curl or straighten your tresses try not to use heat greater than 350 degrees. Also, make sure to use a good heat protectant before applying heat to your tresses.

NIGHT TIME MAINTENANCE

You should always tie your hair up at night to prevent your tresses from tangling & shedding. You could also apply a silk bonnet and tie it down with a silk head tie for extra security. If curly or wavy tresses are installed try wetting the tresses and using of Flexi rods, bantu knots, two strand twist or braids. wetting the tresses with distilled water or using 14 in 1 miracle worker will help define the curl patterns of your tresses. This option is beneficial for the fresh look of you curl patterns.
